Flip-Flop for Charity

The nOg run club likes to raise money by setting world records. Their latest run in Cary North Carolina broke their own World’s Largest Flip-Flop 1K record. This year, more than 1336 people raced in thong flip-flops. It sounded like clapping hands, applauding the club’s many donations to charity!

Power-Full Roads

Tokyo Japan is building solar roads before the 2020 Olympics. Solar panels will be installed under a resin surface on the streets. The first solar road was built in 2016 in Normandy France, but they are expensive to build. However, the panels will generate energy, and help Tokyo become a more eco-friendly city!

Save Me a Cookie!

Today is National Peanut Butter Cookie Day, and it’s my favorite easy recipe! Mix a cup of sugar, a cup of peanut butter, and an egg together. Put spoonfuls on a cookie sheet, press them down with a fork, and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until they are just barely brown at the bottom. Enjoy!

Are We in Bedrock?

A new community is being built in the Netherlands. Or should I say printed? The one story homes are going to be made with a 3D printer! The Eindhoven University of Technology designed the homes as part of “Project Milestone.” They’ll be made of concrete and look like rounded boulders!

Don’t you think that tree needs a nice sweater? Get out your crochet or knitting needles and give it one, because today is Yarn Bombing Day! Crochet a colorful sleeve right onto a bike rack, or telephone pole! Then end your day with an ear of roasted corn, for National Corn On The Cob Day!
