2000 Mile Relay Returns Pooch Home

A year ago, Jake the dog disappeared from his home in Arizona. But Adam Herbaugh found the coonhound wandering the streets in Pennsylvania, and located Jake’s owners because he was microchipped. The animal rescue group, A Darrah Bull Bully Rescue, organized a relay to return him. 20 volunteers drove him 100 miles each, until he was home again!

Which Cretaceous Birds Survived?

Paleontologists believe an asteroid strike in Chicxulub Mexico 66 million years ago may have wiped out 3/4 of all species on Earth, including most non-avian dinosaurs. Vertebrate paleontologist Daniel Field believes most birds also did not survive because of forest fires. The exception was ground-dwelling birds. They moved into trees once the forests recovered, and evolved into today’s birds!

Incredible Feat of Jugglesolving

Here’s an unbelievable world record: fastest time to solve three Rubik’s cubes whilst juggling! Yes, you heard that right. 13 year-old Que Jianyu from China, solved 3 Rubik’s cubes simultaneously as he juggled them, and he did it in just over 5 minutes! I didn’t know jugglesolving was even a thing! He is amazing!

Good Dog!

Smoky and Remus are doggie best friends that were playing around a pool. Smoky decided to go in for a swim, but he couldn’t get back out. Remus tried to direct him to the stairs, but that wasn’t working, and his friend was struggling. So Remus jumped in and boosted Smoky out of the pool himself!

Is Pluto a Ball of Comets?

Researchers have a new theory on how Pluto was formed. They believe the dwarf planet might be made of comets! Pluto’s atmosphere is 98% nitrogen, and they think the only way to account for such high levels would be for a billion comets to have gradually stuck together, becoming the giant comet Pluto!
