The largest pillow fight ever, took place in Minnesota on Friday. Mike Lindell, the inventor of MyPillow, supplied over 66,000 pillows to participants. The Minnesota Vikings football stadium was filled with people battering each other with pillows for 2 straight minutes. Everyone got to take their new, slightly demolished, pillows home with them!

Everyone knows blood is red, right? Not if you’re a New Guinea skink! The lizards have bright green blood! Their blood contains high levels of biliverdin, a highly toxic bile pigment. The substance may help protect the skinks from blood parasites that carry malaria. Unfortunately, it doesn’t bother the birds and snakes that eat skinks!

Watch Out, It Might be a Little Hot

Scientists have figured out how to heat water faster. By using a laser pulse made of x-rays, they heated water to 100,000 degrees Celsius, in 75 femtoseconds (which is a millionth of a billionth second). Heating water molecules usually makes them shake stronger and stronger. An x-ray laser punches the electrons right off the molecule!

Go Make Your Bed!

Don’t get annoyed that you have to make your bed every morning. Chimpanzees have to make their bed every night, literally! They weave a new bed each evening out of sticks and leaves, 30 feet up in a tree. Researchers found that chimp beds have very few parasites or microbes, unlike human beds. Ours are full of microbes!
