Pig Is a Welcome Visitor

A tiny pig is bringing big smiles, to senior citizens in Kansas. Brett Martin is a maintenance worker at the Good Samaritan Society nursing home, and he brings his pet Juliana pig, Odin, to work with him. Residents love to pet the piggie and feed him cereal. Odin even gets along the residents’ cats!

Rockin’ and Rollin’ in an Apron

Today is Tie One On Day. Pick your favorite apron, and tie it on to protect your clothes, while you cook a big feast. Aprons come in handy, as emergency oven mitts, towels, or an extra pocket. It’s also Jukebox Day. Some restaurants still have jukeboxes, so you can listen to your favorite songs!

Face Cream That Tastes Yummy

Today is Bavarian Cream Pie Day. The custard-like filling is also delicious in donuts and eclaires. Coincidentally, it’s also Pie In The Face Day. If you don’t want to waste your delicious Bavarian cream pie, just fill a pie tin with whipped cream instead! It’s just as satisfying, and quicker to reload!

Disco Dance with Dogs

Coffee Milano Cafe in Middleborough Massachusetts, loves to see people dance. A sign on their door asks customers to show off their best dance for 5 seconds, to earn a free coffee. They might change things up this Friday, by asking people to dance with their dog. What a fun way to get coffee!

Take advantage of the Every Kid Outdoors program, to visit a National Park over your Thanksgiving break. Print a free annual pass, good for everyone in the car, at Every-Kid-Outdoors.gov. Pack a snack, and happy travels!

Today is Cake Day! Will you make one from scratch, and practice all your measuring skills? You could use a boxed cake mix instead, and add some special ingredients, like chocolate chips or raspberries. You can even buy a cake, and focus on the best part of this special occasion, which is eating cake!

Little Giant Anteater Born

A rare giant anteater baby, was born at Cotswold Wildlife Park last week. The mother anteater, named Zeta, surprised zookeepers by lifting her tail one morning to show off her new pup! Baby Antony gets around by riding on his mama’s back. His own back has a white stripe, which is unusual for pups.

Visit Narnia in England

There’s a treehouse and cottage in Oxford England, inspired by The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, written by C S Lewis. The property, near where the author lived, features a magic wardrobe that leads to the countryside, a talking mirror, and rooms that look like the beavers’ den and Mr Tumnus’s cave.

Today is Eat With A Friend Day. You probably eat with friends at school, but make a special effort for dinner. You could have a pancake or pizza party with some friends, where everyone picks out wacky toppings for their own plate. Or you could have a living room picnic, with sandwiches and snacks.

Today is Blasé Day. The French word for jaded, being blasé about something means you’re unimpressed. An impressive parfait will fix that attitude, especially since it’s Parfait Day! That’s also a French word, meaning perfect. The dessert has layers of cream, fruit, nuts, yogurt, or anything else you desire, to make it perfectly delicious!
