A lamb and a hero were born in Wales during Storm Emma. A mother sheep had twins and the first lamb froze to the ground while the second one was born. Farmer Pip Samuel thought the lamb had died, but his dog Freddie started licking it and revived her! She’s named Frieda, after her hero!

55 year-old Dermot Higgins is a retired teacher from Dublin on a mission. He wants to be the oldest man to circumnavigate the globe by bicycle! He’ll be biking over 19,000 miles and is currently crossing the U-S-A. He plans to be in New York’s Saint Patrick’s Day parade, and return to Dublin by Easter. Go Go Dermo!

132 years ago, the Captain of the Paula stuffed a message in a bottle and tossed it in the ocean. It was just found on a beach in Australia! It turned out to be part of a German experiment from 1886 charting ocean currents, when thousands of bottles were thrown from German ships. That trip took a while!

Cornflakes were invented in 1891 by John Kellogg, and Charles Post started his cereal business with Grape-nuts in 1898. Make your menu easy today by having cereal for every meal! The age of dinosaurs wasn’t only for giant creatures. 127 million years ago, birds the size of grasshoppers existed! The tiny birds, with teeth and clawed fingers on their wings, were less than 2 inches long. The enantiornithine fossil from the Cretaceous Period was found in Spain at the Las Hoyas fossil site.

7 year-old Montannah Kenney is getting ready to take on a mountain. She and her mom, Hollie, will attempt to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa. She hopes to become the youngest female ever to climb Kilimanjaro. Keats Boyd, also 7, was the youngest male to complete the feat.

Paul Allen co-founded Microsoft, but looks for historic shipwrecks on his Research Vessel Petrel in his spare time. He has found the Japanese battleship Musashi, the Italian destroyer Artigliere, and the USS’s Indianapolis, Astoria, and Ward. His latest discovery is the USS Lexington, a WWII aircraft carrier. It sank in the Coral Sea 76 years ago!

The new Apple headquarters in California looks like a spaceship, with lots of glass walls and doors. There may be too much glass, as employees keep walking into them! Squeaky clean glass has caused multiple calls to 9-1-1. Apple employees might also be paying more attention to their iPhones . Look out for that wall!
