Mitchell hopes the publicity will help them find loving homes, and their own personal dog-walking human!

You’re never too old, for a thrilling ride. 94-year-old Donna Maddox, always loved driving fast, once pushing her Lincoln to 115 miles-per-hour. She may not have been in the driver’s seat, but Donna took a wild ride at the Michigan International Speedway. She whizzed around the track in a red Ferrari, at 150 miles-per-hour!

5 years ago, Matthew Lloyd received a 5-dollar cheese-making kit for Christmas. He enjoyed the process so much, that he started his own artisan creamery business. His backyard cheese-making enterprise, called The Rennet Works, produces award-winning cheeses, and sells to local gourmet cheese shops. You never know what new hobby, will become your passion.

The Orionids meteor shower will be visible for a few weeks. The meteors are created by debris left by Halley’s Comet. Tomorrow will be the best time to see them, around 2:00 in the morning! Set your alarm and hope for clear skies, and you might get to wish on 20 shooting stars per hour!

It’s also International Chef Day. Wear a chef’s hat and try out a new recipe. Create a fancy menu, for your personal restaurant!

11-year-old Rosili Olson had some suggestions, for a new playground in her city, so she took her crayon drawings to city hall. The people in charge agreed with her plans to include equipment for children of all ages. After a few meetings with Rosili, the playground plans looked perfect, right down to the color!

Have you ever waited so long to take a bath, you grew algae? That’s what a sloth does! It hangs upside-down in trees, moving incredibly slowly, growing algae for camouflage, and coming down once a week to poop. Start growing your fingernails into long claws, for next year’s International Sloth Day!

When you break a toy, do you throw it away, or do you fix it? Today is International Repair Day, so practice fixing something broken. YouTube videos give you step-by-step instructions to fix cars, appliances, and even dolls. By repairing items yourself, you’ll save a lot of money, and keep stuff out of landfills.

Today is Bridge Day, but it’s not really about bridges. It’s about BASE jumpers, the people who jump off of them for fun, using parachutes or wingsuits! BASE stands for Buildings, Antennas, Spans, (like bridges), and Earth, (like cliffs). It’s also I Love Yarn Day, if knitting is more your style!
