That’s Not a Pipe Cleaner, It’s a Worm!
Researchers have discovered a new species fossilized in British Columbia Canada. The Kootenayscolex barbarensis is a bristle-covered worm that looks like a pipe cleaner! It lived 508 million years ago during the Cambrian period. The unusually well-preserved annelids, which are segmented worms, will provide important information showing their evolution into modern worm species.
