Did you know coral reefs make sounds? Technically, it’s all the creatures living there, like shrimp and fish, but a healthy coral reef should be a noisy place. Scientists found that playing a recording of these sounds, could attract young fish to damaged coral reefs. The new inhabitants help revive the reef ecosystem!

The National Dog Show took place in Philadelphia last week, and the grand champion was a chunky bulldog. His full name is GCHG Diamond Gold Majesu Pisko Bulls, but you can call him Thor for short! He beat more than 1,900 other dogs, including a Havanese named GCHP Oestes in the Name of Love.

It first started in 2005, when people went back to work after the Thanksgiving holiday, and shopped online using their fast internet connections. It’s the best day to buy gifts online because there are lots of discounts. In case you’re wondering, I love hats!

People have been using 3D printers to create art, cars, and houses. They are also useful for printing body parts! 3D printers supplied a dolphin with a new tail, repaired an eagle’s beak, and printed a replacement shell for a turtle. From prosthetic arms for humans, to rhinoceros horns, the possibilities are endless.

It appears Santa may have to relocate his workshop. The official North Pole has moved! Earth’s magnetic North Pole has shifted in recent years, so it’s 34 miles closer to Russia. The shifting of magnetic North and South poles is normal, and periodically, they even flip! The last flip happened 780,000 years ago.

Cows in Russia are getting treated to pleasant experiences, by wearing virtual reality headsets. Farmers want to see if the cows produce more and better milk, if they think they’re standing in a meadow. The cows certainly appear happier, but it seems like letting them roam on a real field would be easier!

Today is Rosa Parks Day, commemorating the date she became a hero in the civil rights movement. Rosa Parks was arrested in 1955, for refusing to give up her seat to a white man on a bus in Alabama. A new statue has been erected in Montgomery Alabama, honoring Rosa and the fight for equality.
