You know what’s awesome? Toilets! It’s World Toilet Day! 2.5 billion people in the world don’t have toilets, so be thankful for yours, and keep it clean! It’s also Play Monopoly Day. The original version was created in 1935, but new versions are released every year. You might even find one for your town!

A woman was visiting her family in Missouri, and her mom convinced her to buy a lottery ticket. The ticket was a big winner. She won $25,000 a year for life! Remember to always visit your mother, and to listen to her advice!

10-year-old Ryan Hickman visited lawmakers in Washington DC last month, to push for a new recycling bill. He wants the United States to have standardized recycling labels, to make recycling less confusing. They will reduce garbage contamination of recyclables. Ryan should know, because he started his own recycling company when he was 3!

When Risto Mattila visited Hailuoto Island in Finland last week, he was surprised to see the beach covered in large balls of ice. Ice balls are formed when pieces of ice are rolled around by wind in rough waters. Some were as big as soccer balls! Look up “Finnish ice balls” to see photos!

NASA’s powerful Hubble telescope, has spotted a galaxy in the constellation Aries. It’s twice as big as our own Milky Way. Unlike our galaxy, it does not have a bar of bright light through the center. It’s classified as a peculiar galaxy, because it’s stretched out, and has one twisted and distorted spiral arm.

M I C, K E Y, M O U S E! It’s Mickey Mouse Day! The most famous mouse in the world made his debut 91 years ago. It’s also National Princess Day; sounds like the perfect day to go to Disneyland! Today is Apple Cider Day too. Cold or hot, it’s delicious!

A flight from Moscow Russia had to be delayed last week, because of a stow-away pigeon! The bird got into the passenger compartment, and had to be removed before the plane could take off. I guess even when you have wings, sometimes you just want to fly in comfort!

Lots of kids have little red wagons, but you usually need someone to pull you in it. Not Kevin Shaller. He and his team put a motor in a Radio Flyer wagon, and raced it on a track in Illinois. It reached a top speed of 30 miles-per-hour, breaking the world record!

States of matter are the different forms in which matter can exist. The 4 most common ones are solid, liquid, gas and plasma. Other states can only be created in a lab. Physicists have discovered a new state of matter. Special pairs of electrons that usually conduct or block electrical currents, can exist in-between.

The places most people wanted to go were National Parks, like the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, and Yellowstone. The most necessary items, were snacks and phone chargers.
