Badger Badger Badger

Have you ever seen a badger? There are American badgers, European badgers, and honey badgers among the different species. They can be found in many parts of North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. Today is National Badger Day, so look up some pictures, and see which type looks the friendliest!

Thanks for Coaching

Today is Mad Hatter Day, so wear a crazy hat, and have fun acting silly! Maybe your hat should have spaghetti on it, because it’s also Noodle Day! What’s your favorite noodle shape? Don’t forget about Coaches Day. Many people volunteer their time to coach kids’ sports. Give them a special high-five thank you!

Cubist Art Sets a Record

Many people collaborated to set a new world record. Prince Harry’s face was the subject of a mosaic, designed by a Norwegian artist known as @cube-arting. The giant mural was made of 1,575 Rubik’s cubes. Speedcuber George Scholey taught 308 people to solve Rubik’s cubes, who became the most individual contributors to a Rubik’s Cube Mosaic.

CPR Saves a Prairie Dog

Teenagers Teagan Mayer and Grace Keogh were swimming in Colorado, when they spotted a prairie dog at the bottom of the pool. They used their rescue training, and performed chest compressions on the animal. The CPR worked, and the prairie dog started moving and coughing up water! He scurried away, lucky to be alive!

Big Brawny Bears

Every year, Katmai National Park and Preserve in Alaska has a “fattest bear” competition. This week, the public has voted Lefty and 747 to the top so far, but there are still a few days left. The brown bears have a few more weeks to stuff themselves before they start to hibernate for the winter.

Teachers are the Best!

Teachers have one of the most important jobs in the world. Give them a big “Thank you!” today, because it’s World Teachers Day! Wait, you don’t have school on Saturdays. You’d better make them a card instead, since it’s also Card Making Day! Make it colorful, and write something nice inside. They’ll love it!

Here Piggy-Piggy

In Farnham England Wednesday, the Hog’s Back area of the A31 highway had to be closed down, to get a hog back! The Surrey Police shut down the stretch of road when a pig escaped, and was running loose in traffic. After 3 hours, the little stinker was finally recaptured, and the highway reopened.

Control the Ball

Can you juggle a soccer ball? A British soccer freestyler just set a new world record in Morocco, by walking the longest distance in 1 hour while juggling a soccer ball with his feet. John Farnworth juggled over 3.6 miles through the Sahara Desert, in a sandstorm, with wind and sand blowing in his face!
