The Dublin Zoo is enjoying its newest addition: a baby elephant! Weighing nearly 200 pounds, the Asian elephant calf arrived to mom Anak after a 22 month pregnancy! All the females in the herd are helping to take care of him. He hasn’t been named yet, but you can visit him if you’re in Ireland.

Border shmorder. A wild Asian elephant was filmed stepping right over the barriers marking the border between Laos and China. To keep the elephant safe, border guards alerted nearby residents. 300 elephants live in the rainforest in Yunnan Province China, but in winter they make illegal crossings to forage for food.
