Residents of Trinity Bay in Newfoundland Canada rescued a pod of dolphins last week. The dolphins were trapped in shallow water, surrounded by ice that was spreading towards the shore. The fire chief, Stanley Legge, started clearing ice with an excavator. Boats continued to cut a path out of the harbor until the dolphins could swim free!

When Charlie Lagarde turned 18 this month in Quebec, she celebrated by buying a lottery ticket. Her birthday was also her lucky day, because she won a $1,000,000 jackpot! Canadian boy Judah Tyreman loves rocks. The 13 year-old earned enough money to rent a building to display his rock collection in Radisson Quebec. After his Sesula Mineral and Gem Museum was robbed last week, the Royal Saskatchewan Museum offered Judah all their duplicate specimens, people raised money, and the museum can reopen. Rock on!

Anyone can donate clothing, shoes or even jewelry by hanging it in a designated area where people in need can shop for free. What a great idea!

Ugh, I feel so tired this morning. We had to move the clocks forward one hour in the USA and Canada for Daylight Saving Time. It’s dark again when kids get up for school, but there’s more natural light in the evening to play outside! It’s good for businesses and saves on electricity. But I’m still sleepy!

Esmond Allcock is one of the oldest men in Canada at 108 years old. He had 6 children, 17 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren, but no namesake. His granddaughter Jenna just gave him a wonderful gift: she named her new son Esmond, Jr! After 71 descendants, he finally has someone named after him!
