Terracycle Turns Butts into Benches

Are you sick of seeing cigarette butts on the ground? Terracycle is trying to help by recycling butts into park benches and shipping pallets. They provide a container to collect discarded cigarettes, which you return to them when full. They’ve recycled 90 million butts so far! Join the program at Terracycle.com.

Cigarette Butts Are Litter, Too

California’s Sally Dawley is proud to be known as the “Butt Lady of Auburn.” For the last 3 1/2 years, she’s been counting how many cigarette butts she picks up. She reached 1,000,000 on Valentine’s Day. She wishes people would quit smoking, or at least dispose of the butts properly instead of littering. So do I!
