Cheating in the Middle Ages

It took 600 years, but the Medieval cheater was finally discovered. An archaeological site in Norway has uncovered many dice from the Middle Ages over the years. One of the wooden 6-sided dice just found, had two sets of 5s and 4s, instead of sides with 1 and 2 dots. Somebody was using it to cheat! Shame on them.

Can Bubbles Stop a Hurricane?

Researchers in Norway are working on a way to prevent hurricanes: with bubbles. Since hurricanes form when water temperatures reach about 80 degrees Fahrenheit, they believe pumping a “bubble curtain” of cold water from deep in the ocean will help to cool the surface. Once the surface temperature cools, storms may lose power.

Happiness Abounds in Finland

Do you want to visit the happiest country in the world? According to this year’s World Happiness Report, Finland has the happiest people, including its immigrant population. The United Nations ranks every country based on income, freedom, trust, healthy life expectancy, social support and generosity. Denmark, Switzerland and Norway were past winners.
