They train and hire the homeless to work in their restaurants, donate 100% of the profits to charity, and give free food to the homeless community. Now Social Bite has even built a small village for their rough-sleeping employees! Awesome!

They’ll make a record of all life in the lake from biological samples, and compare it to databases with over 100,000 organisms. If the Loch Ness Monster is in there, they should finally find evidence. Even monsters poop!

Scotland’s Highland Wildlife Park has babies! There’s Hamish, the adorable polar bear. 3 fluffy northern rockhopper penguin chicks have hatched. A kangaroo joey finally poked its head out of its momma’s pouch. Binturong twins are running around smelling like popcorn. Pamba the pancake tortoise, a Japanese macaque, a Przewalski foal, and gelada baboon babies are also out!

Archaeologists are excavating an exciting site in the Orkney Islands in Scotland. It appears to be the remains of a massive party thrown 1700 years ago during the Iron Age! They have discovered 11,000 animal bone fragments and broken beverage pots from a huge feast, and bronze pins and brooches used as party favors!

About 50 dinosaur footprints have been discovered on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. The footprints were made by theropods, which walked on two legs like the T-Rex, and long-necked sauropods. The tracks date back 170 million years to the Jurassic period, when the Brothers’ Point area was a muddy lagoon.

Fiona Presly of Inverness Scotland has a tiny fuzzy pet. It’s a bumblebee! She noticed a bee with no wings in her garden last spring. The bee crawled onto her hand happily, and Fiona adopted her knowing she wouldn’t survive the winter on her own. Fiona and Bee’s friendship is a mystery to scientists!

The first polar bear cub to be born in the United Kingdom in 25 years just showed its adorable little face! The cub was born in December to mom Victoria at the Highland Wildlife Park in Scotland, but it didn’t leave its mother’s den until now. At least it didn’t miss all the snow!

After a snowstorm in Kiltarlity Scotland, 8 year-old Kyle Mackay got to work. Worried that people in his neighborhood would slip on the ice, he filled a wheelbarrow with grit and spent his snow days salting the sidewalks. Local companies gave him his own 1000 dollar gritter, work jacket and gloves to help him help others!
