The new State of Global Air report just came out. It found that 95% of the world’s population breathes polluted air, with some of the the worst air quality in the poorest countries. But many countries are using more clean solar and wind energy, and finding other ways to reduce pollution. Working together, we will breathe clean air again!

In March, Portugal generated enough renewable energy through wind and hydro power to supply the entire country with power for a month! By converting wind and water to electricity, Portugal saved the Earth’s atmosphere from 1.8 million tons of carbon dioxide. I hope more countries will follow their lead. Thank you, Portugal, for giving the planet cleaner air!

Germany has invested a lot into clean renewable power over the last few decades. They primarily use solar and wind energy. It has been so successful that sometimes they have more power produced than they can use, meaning customers get power for free! Renewable energy makes sense, and cents!
