A new world record for most mariachis performing simultaneously was set over the weekend, in Robstown, Texas. More than 800 musicians in 42 mariachi bands performed “Las Mañanitas” together. They had to be dressed in full mariachi garb, including sombreros, to beat the current record set in Mexico, where mariachi music originated.

Wolferman’s gourmet bakery wanted to make something outstanding for the Pear Blossom Festival in Medford, Oregon. So they made a 1149 pound cinnamon roll! It easily broke the world record in its 6 foot by 9 foot pan. Since they didn’t have a big enough oven, they cooked it over propane burners. Now I want a cinnamon roll for breakfast!

How many times can you clap in one minute? 9 year-old Seven Wade from Florida holds the world record for the most claps in one minute: 1080! He practiced speed clapping every day for months, and did lots of research on how to make it an official record. Give him a round of applause!

Montannah Kenney, a 7 year-old girl from Texas, became the youngest female to hike to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro. The dormant volcano in Tanzania is the highest peak in Africa. She wanted to climb the 19,341 foot mountain with her mom, in order to get closer to her dad in Heaven and say “hi” from above the clouds.

Tazio Gavioli’s cat, Kali, lost a paw after a car accident. Inspired by Kali, the Italian man started doing strength training with one arm. He’s set one-armed climbing and explosive pull up records; the latest confirmed world record was for most consecutive pinky pull ups. He did 23 pull ups in a row using only his pinky fingers!

An ice carousel is a round sheet of ice that can spin around inside a stationary sheet of ice, and the world’s largest ice carousel was just created in Long Lake Maine! The circular sheet of ice took over a month to cut, is 427 feet across, 32 inches thick, and weighs 22,000,000 pounds! But it doesn’t have horses.

1372 Alpha 1S robots, made by UBTECH, set a new world record in Italy. They became the largest number of robots dancing simultaneously in perfect unison. Of course they didn’t leave out the best dance step: they dabbed. Robots are supposed to revolutionize the world, but they also like to have fun!

The world record for greatest variety of cheese on a pizza was set in Germany, when a chef at pizza.de created the masterpiece. It has 111 varieties of cheese! I think I need a slice RIGHT NOW!

It’s World Autism Awareness Day, and one Canadian dad with Asperger’s is raising awareness by playing Minecraft. Stuart Duncan is attempting to break the “longest videogame marathon on Minecraft” record, which is nearly 36 hours. He wants “to show the world that autistics are equal and capable.” His kids just want their turn!
