Caterpillars Make Plastic Beautiful

Plastic bags and other polyethylene-based materials often take decades to decompose. Scientists identified several species of caterpillars that eat and digest the plastic. The bacteria in their gut can break it down. By using that same bacteria on plastics, humans can reduce this pollutant and help save the planet.
