Cleaning Water With Sand

Stormwater gets so contaminated with pollutants like lead and cadmium, that it becomes useless. Researchers have developed a mineral-coated sand, that soaks up toxic metals and organic chemicals. Water that runs through streets and gutters, could be reused once it’s filtered through the sand. Cities will get a lot of water back into circulation!
