Gecko Sheds its Skin

A gecko discovered in Madagascar can shed its skin on demand! Geckolepis megalepis has scales like thick bony plates that fall off when it feels threatened. The scales detach all the way to the muscle, leaving a gecko that looks like raw chicken. The scales grow back in just a few weeks.
