Homeless Boy Becomes Chess Champ

Just over a year ago, Tanitoluwa Adewumi, nicknamed Tani, learned how to play chess. The 8 year-old just became the New York State chess champion for his age group! Tani’s family fled from violence in Nigeria 2 years ago, and lived in a homeless shelter, making his ability to focus on chess even more impressive!
