Prickly Packaging

Mexican scientist Sandra Pascoe Ortiz, has developed a biodegradable plastic made from cactus leaves! It can degrade in water in only a few days. Since cacti can grow in harsh conditions, the eco-friendly plastic can be produced using fewer natural resources. The cactus plastic is even edible, although it doesn’t taste very good!
