Tapping Into Earth’s Power

The UK’s first geothermal power plant, in Cornwall, will soon supply electricity to 10,000 homes. It creates power by using the Earth’s own heat, 3 miles below the surface. Drilling a hole that deep, is harder than erecting solar panels or windmills, but sun and wind are not constant. Earth’s outer core is always red-hot!
