Waste-Lands Don’t Go to Waste

Landfills are giant holes up to 500 feet deep, where garbage is dumped, with vents to release gas. Once they’re filled and capped with concrete, some landfills are getting a second life, as solar farms. The big open spaces, are covered with solar panels, and convert the Sun’s energy into electricity for the community.
