Wild Hippos in England

A newly discovered prehistoric hippo tooth, shows hippopotamuses used to roam around Britain, 1.5 million years ago. The tooth is much older than other hippo fossils from that area, indicating a previously unknown warm period. Prehistoric hippopotamuses were twice as big as modern hippos, and needed to live in water that wouldn’t freeze.
